Class XI Parent Orientation
The Orchid School(TOS)believes in giving the exposure of diverse curriculum that is a combination of scholastic, co-scholastic and other programs that impart skills related to real life.
From the academic year, 2020-2021, Class XI have two Science Sections (CBSE curriculum) and one Commerce Section (CBSE curriculum).
In the face of lockdown due to COVID-19 with which the entire world is grappling, social distancing is the only way to remain safe. Therefore, our admission process is online. Until the documentation process is over the admission status will be provisional.
Some important dates:
Online admission process begins – 11th July 2020 onwards
Classes begin – 22nd July 2020

* English - Average of language and literature.
**Science - Average of Physics, Chemistry, Biology
Note:
- As per CBSE guidelines students who wish to opt for Mathematics at Sr. Secondary level must qualify in Mathematics (Standard) as per above eligibility criteria
- Students with Mathematics (Basic) are not eligible to pursue Mathematics at Sr. Secondary level. Please refer to the CBSE Circular No Acad-03/2019 dated 10th January, 2019.

Process for Provisional Admission
Documents to be scanned and sent for online Provisional Admission:
- Photocopy of Board result is mandatory/ Before Board result is declared, the Mid Term or Prelims Report
- 1 recent passport size photograph.
- Birth certificate original or self-attested copy
- Aadhar Card copy for Indian Nationals and Passport copy for foreign nationals.
- Transfer Certificate / School Leaving Certificate.
- Migration Certificate – Photocopy.
Fee Structure:
Grade XI Science school fee for Academic Year 2020-21 and instalment break up- This fee structure is with the roll back of 8% fee hike that was approved for the AY 2020-21.

Please note that the one-time admission fee (non-refundable) and 1st installment is to be paid. On receipt of the payment, the provisional admission will be confirmed.
Fees include:
- Regular CBSE course studies.
- Co- Scholastic subject areas namely Health and Physical Education, General Studies and Work Experience.
- Practical in relevant subjects.
- Assessments as per norms.
Fees do not include:
- Uniform.
- Text book and notebooks
- Stationery
- Study Visits/ Exchange Program
- CBSE Registration and Examination Fee
- Transport (subjective to functioning of school in physical form)
- Lunch (Optional- subjective to functioning of school in physical form).
Any other facilities not mentioned in fee challan
Admission Withdrawal Policy:
- This process is effective only through written communication in the form of an application.
- Telephonic messages/ Verbal communication or an email will not be considered authentic.
- Transfer Certificate form to be filled (given from school office) and should be duly signed by both the parents.
- If the parent is a single parent/ any legal case pending/ a decree etc. submission of relevant documents is mandatory.
- Without the appropriate documents, the school leaving certificate will not be processed.
Refund of fees:
The refund of fees will be as per the school policy mentioned below:
- In all situations, at any given point of time, if withdrawal of admission takes place there is no refund applicable, be it provisional admission or confirmed admission.
- If the student is leaving the school after the session commences for the academic year then he/she must pay full fees for the academic year.
Processing of Transfer Certificate:
- The Transfer Certificate Form once certified as ‘No Dues’ from Class Teacher, Library, Accounts Office and Administration Department, is further processed for producing the ‘Transfer Certificate’ within 10 school office working days.
Certain Mandates:
- No negotiations will be allowed regarding school timings and number of minimum expected working days (75% as per CBSE norms) even if the student has enrolled for other after school classes.
- Switching the subjects or change of any subject will not be allowed after end July / early August.
Important to Note:
- The regular online classes for Class XI have begun on 4th June’20
- The students who will take the admission after 11th July’20 will be in a separate section.
- As some part of the syllabus has already been covered for the students who have taken the admission before, this new section will be at different pace of syllabus completion.
- To bring the syllabus at par with other sections, the students admitted after 11th July will have to work extra hours or days if required, which will be defined by the school.
- The assessment cycle of this new section may also differ from the other section.
- Please note that no comparison should be done between the classes for completion of the portion or assessments.
- TOS assures that the learning experience and the quality will be maintained at par and across levels. Our effort will be to bring the curriculum to the same level by the end of the academic year.
School Timings:
8:30 am to 2:15 pm (When school functions in physical form)
However during this period of pandemic, the timings will be subject to the norms of functioning and social distancing.
Online Classes Time:
9:00 AM- 12:30 PM
9:00 AM to 1:20 PM – for students who have opted for Applied Mathematics
