The Orchid School (TOS) has always strived for quality, contemporary and pedagogically aligned education.

The school began the Senior Secondary Section with Science Stream in the year 2014–15 and Commerce stream was introduced for class XI in 2020–21. The program is very rich with subject expertise lectures, courses, field trips, events for personality development, etc.

NEP and its focus on School education

The National Education Policy 2020 (NEP 2020), which was approved by the Union Cabinet of India on 29 July 2020, outlines the vision of India's new education system. The new policy replaces the previous National Policy on Education, 1986. The policy is a comprehensive framework for elementary education to higher education as well as vocational training in both rural and urban India.

The "10 + 2" structure will be replaced with "5+3+3+4" model.  For Secondary Stage: Classes 9 to 12, covering the ages of 14-19 years. It is again subdivided into two parts: classes 9 and 10 covering the first phase while classes 11 and 12 covering the second phase. These 4 years of study are intended to inculcate multidisciplinary study, coupled with depth and critical thinking. Multiple options of subjects will be provided.

In an endeavor to align with the NEP and provide opportunities for learning to students having aptitude towards different subjects In the AY 2021-22, school will introduce Humanities subjects.

The vision is to provide three streams with range of subjects that students can choose from, while specializing in a domain. Students have the opportunity to expand their options for future education.

Thus, TOS is making this leap to cater to the students with varied needs so they can opt for different subjects as per their interest and aptitude.

The school will continue to bring in various modular courses. You can check our website – www.theorchidschool.org and TOS Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/theorchidschool.org/   for all the courses offered in the pandemic year 2020 for the students to enhance and enrich the curriculum.
