The Orchid School recently hosted a transformative two-day Change Makers Workshop, designed to help students move beyond understanding empathy—to applying it meaningfully in the real world.
Conducted by Parag Manekar and the RealLives Foundation team, the workshop immersed students in a powerful life-simulation experience that built empathy, social awareness, and decision-making skills. Through structured reflection and guided discussions, students gained a deeper understanding of social realities and global challenges.
On Day 2, learning translated into action. Students were assigned Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) themes such as clean water and sanitation, e-waste management, nutrition, and healthcare. Working collaboratively, they:
- Developed business venture ideas
- Created presentations and actionable solutions
- Understood the business and impact side of social entrepreneurship
- Demonstrated skills aligned with co-scholastic assessment, supported by RCMI reports
The workshop successfully blended skill development, empathy-driven thinking, and real-world application, empowering students to see how compassion can be amplified through innovation and enterprise.
