The Orchid School (TOS) advocates for Locally Rooted Globally Competent Education, aiming to instill a belief system deeply connected to the local environment. Ashadi Ekadashi, a significant festival in Maharashtra, holds special importance in Pune as the palkhi procession passes through the city. By blending celebrations, cultural significance, and educating children about their roots, TOS commemorated Ashadi Ekadashi during a school assembly. The young learners delved into the basics of wari – the warkari tradition, the Wari route, and the teachers sang an abhanga. They were also enlightened about the significance of ‘Tulsi’ and its role in Ayurveda. The event culminated with the children actively participating in the palkhi procession to honor Ashadi Ekadashi.
