The Grade VII students are celebrating their financial education journey with an exciting event known as Business City.
Business City is not just an event filled with fun, food, and shopping stalls; it serves as an immersive learning experience aimed at teaching students the basics of financial transactions in a practical manner. From planning and budgeting to marketing and sales, students engage actively in every facet of the event. A variety of stalls have been created, offering numerous food and shopping choices. Teachers, students, and staff are all encouraged to take part, supporting the young entrepreneurs while enjoying the lively atmosphere generated by the students’ creativity and hard work.
One of the main goals of Business City is to foster a sense of responsibility and accountability regarding money management. By allowing students to take charge of their stalls, make pricing and promotional decisions, and handle transactions, they acquire invaluable real-world skills that will benefit them in the future. Moreover, Business City promotes collaboration and teamwork among students as they work together to plan and execute their stalls. Whether deciding on menu items, creating marketing materials, or managing inventory, students learn the significance of communication and cooperation in reaching shared objectives. In addition to the practical skills developed, Business City encourages students to think creatively and innovatively.
From unique food items to handmade crafts like keychains, bookmarks, bracelets, fancy stationery, and various accessories, the event allows students to showcase their talents and entrepreneurial spirit.
