Grade XI Students Gain Valuable Insights at Bharatiya Samaj Seva Kendra

As part of their Life Skills Orientation (LSO) module, the Grade XI students of The Orchid School recently visited Bharatiya Samaj Seva Kendra (BSSK), a Pune-based non-profit organization dedicated to the welfare of children and families in need. This visit provided the students with an insightful experience, deepening their understanding of child care, protection, and the vital role organizations like BSSK play in upholding the rights and dignity of every child.

The visit aimed to give students a comprehensive overview of the services offered by BSSK, which includes residential care, foster placements, medical care, counseling, and educational support for children from birth to six years of age. The organization is licensed by the Child Welfare Committee (CWC) and is known for facilitating both domestic and inter-country adoptions, ensuring that each child finds a nurturing and loving home. Guided by the principle of “Building Families, Not Institutions,” BSSK works tirelessly to create a future where every child can thrive in a secure and supportive environment.

During the visit, students engaged directly with the center’s staff and facilities, gaining firsthand knowledge of the critical work being done to support vulnerable children. This interaction fostered a sense of responsibility and empathy among the students, helping them to better understand the challenges faced by these children and the importance of making safe and informed choices.

The visit also emphasized the significance of providing every child with the right to grow up in a secure and loving environment. Through this experience, the students learned about the adoption process and the extensive efforts made by BSSK to ensure that each child is placed in a home where they can lead a fulfilling and dignified life.

Overall, the visit to Bharatiya Samaj Seva Kendra was an eye-opening experience for the Grade XI students. It not only expanded their understanding of child welfare but also highlighted the critical role of organizations like BSSK in advocating for the rights of children and building a better future for them. The students left with a renewed sense of purpose and a deeper appreciation for the importance of protecting and nurturing the most vulnerable members of society.
