A Journey of Art: From Cave Walls to Warli Stories

The History Club, under the guidance of Sanjukta Di, recently hosted a special session for Grade 3 students, offering them a glimpse into the fascinating world of early art.

The session began by helping students understand that long before speech and writing, art was humanity’s earliest form of communication. Cave paintings served as records of life, stories, and traditions — a language expressed through images rather than words.

Students were then introduced to the basics of Warli art, a traditional Indian tribal art form that continues this age-old practice of storytelling through symbols and patterns. To make the learning experience more engaging, each child was given paper and crayons to create their own simple Warli painting.

This hands-on activity not only sparked curiosity about our past but also showed students that creativity has always been central to human expression. Thanks to the efforts of the History Club history was brought alive in a fun, memorable way for our young learners.
