Locally Rooted Globally Competent Education
Mission
The Orchid School provides holistic education in a conducive school climate and home environment which leads to nurturing in students resilience and a sense of personal responsibility and the ability to celebrate diversity, to develop leadership with integrity, to contribute to social development through creativity and problem solving, to face and create challenges with a fusion of traditional and contemporary values and choices.
Core Values
We embrace an open-door policy, encouraging open communication and collaboration between students, parents, and staff. We believe that accessible and approachable leadership creates a supportive environment where concerns can be addressed promptly and effectively. This openness fosters a sense of community and ensures that everyone’s voice is heard.
We champion the freedom of speech, recognizing it as a fundamental right and an essential aspect of personal and academic growth. We provide a safe and respectful platform for students and staff to express their ideas, opinions, and beliefs. By promoting open dialogue and critical thinking, we prepare our students to become informed, articulate, and engaged citizens.
Why Name Orchid?
The Orchid School gets it’s name from the orchid flower. Orchids were the first flowering plants to evolve around 120 million years ago, when the mighty dinosaurs roamed the earth.
The dinosaurs became extinct; so did many species of plants and animals. But the orchid family survived, adapted and expanded.
Orchids are among the most successful and adaptable family of plants. They are often cited as great examples of peaceful and mutually beneficial co-existence in nature. Orchids were here long before humans. The orchid has survived the different stages of evolution by adapting to the changing climate, waiting for the right time & opportunities to bloom.
Our school recognizes the fact that all children have potential, like Orchids. They are waiting to be unfolded and discovered.
When given an appropriate, rich, supportive and nourishing environment, children can blossom and evolve as healthy human beings – as beautiful and exquisite as The Orchid Flower.

At The Orchid School, we believe that a well-organized, print-rich environment is crucial for the social and emotional development of our students. Our classrooms are thoughtfully designed to support literacy and encourage a love for learning. Here’s how we achieve this:
- Charts:
Each classroom displays important topic in forms of charts as it helps children to learn and understand the concept. Domain specific print rich material is in place to enhance the connect of students with the subject. Our primary domain classroom features at least two alphabet charts placed at the children’s eye level, helping them connect with letters and sounds easily. - Item Labels:
We use clear, descriptive labels on shelves, listening centers, writing tables, and group areas to help students associate written words with their corresponding objects and spaces. - Classroom Libraries:
Each classroom boasts a selection of books, ensuring there are at least four books available per child. Our cozy reading corners invite students to explore and enjoy reading during their free time. - Display Boards:
Our classrooms, from Primary to Class 12, are equipped with vibrant soft boards. These boards display student work, projects, and subject-related information, creating a lively and motivating atmosphere. - Educational Tools:
We use a variety of tools such as flash cards, fluency strips, board games, and math manipulatives to enhance language skills, logical thinking, and creativity in the primary domain classes. At The Orchid School, we continuously strive to enrich our learning environment and support our students’ journey to becoming literate, engaged learners.
At The Orchid School, we champion a nurturing and student-centered learning environment. Moving beyond traditional, rigid classroom structures, our approach focuses on:
- Collaborative Learning:
Teachers and students work together, with students actively participating in managing classroom dynamics. - Holistic Growth:
We create a supportive atmosphere where students’ socio-emotional and academic growth are intertwined. - Personalized Attention:
Teachers tailor their approach to each student’s unique needs, fostering self-awareness and personal development. - Positive Relationships:
We emphasize open communication, respect, and student involvement in decision-making to build a caring and harmonious classroom environment.
Our commitment is to provide an engaging and supportive space that promotes holistic development and a love for learning.
Parent Teacher Interactions
Parents and Teachers are corner stone of child’s upbringing and education. Interaction between these two important stakeholders is the primary objectives of the Parent-Teacher Committee (PTC). At The Orchid School the PTC is conducted to foster stronger connections between the home and school environments, enabling parents and teachers to collaborate more effectively in the education of children and young individuals.
Twice a year, the school extends invitations to parents, providing them with insights into their child’s academic performance and behavior. This approach allows parents to gain a comprehensive understanding of their child’s progress. At TOS, we firmly believe that when parents and teachers unite, getting to know each other and building mutual understanding, it greatly contributes to the growth and development of a child.
The Orchid School hold pride in saying that we have an experienced and dedicated team for the growth and development of our young children. We give high priority to retention, training and development of our staff. The top benefit of it is to shape and create efficient and engaging workforce that embodies our values and culture to create successful and safe learning environment for students.
A workforce that is up to date with latest teaching and technological developments will help in promoting a positive school culture and knowledge enhancement of students.
Our staff embodies warmth, respect, knowledge, empathy, care and are individuals who are committed to their role.
We have continuous training and development programmes for our staff to promote and support constant self-development and learning.
We at TOS believe in creating honest and supportive relationships within our organisation as well as with parents and students.

We seek to promote diversity amongst our staff team whenever possible. TOS believes and promotes work life balance therefore we aim to hold and maintain flexibility towards staff needs.
Technology
To realize The Orchid’s commitment to providing Locally Rooted and Globally Competent Education, we have integrated cutting-edge technology into our curriculum.
Our digital classrooms feature use of Augmented Reality powered by Apple iPad used by the educators to enhance the learning experience for our students. Each class is equipped with, Projector, Sound bars, and White Boards to aid the process of imparting education.
The software we utilize is a comprehensive educational tool, covering curriculum content, engaging activities, informative charts, learning games, and 2D-3D animations and videos tailored for secondary-level education in line with CBSE standards.
Furthermore, we prioritize equipping our educators with the necessary skills to make the most of these technological resources. Our teachers undergo a rigorous professional training program, empowering them to leverage E-technology for optimal learning outcomes.
At The Orchid, we view E-Learning as an investment not only in terms of financial resources but also in our dedicated teachers and the potential of our students. This investment serves to unleash the creative potential of our learners both within and beyond the confines of the traditional classroom setting.
Social Conscientization and Emotional Literacy
We firmly believe that our school bears a significant responsibility in nurturing emotionally intelligent and socially aware citizens. Our primary educational focus is centred on cultivating a culture of social equality, peace, and coexistence – a process we refer to as “social conscientization.” Beyond the conventional success metrics of skill mastery and high academic achievements, we aspire to empower our students to introspect and broaden their perspectives. We aim to equip them with the capacity to respond to life’s challenges with sensitivity and maturity.
Our commitment to these ideals is exemplified through our Community Projects:
- Community Engagement Initiatives: These encompass activities like twinning programs with neighbouring municipal corporation schools and teaching and learning sessions with underprivileged children. By engaging in these programs, we aim to sensitize our privileged students to foster democracy as a way of life rather than just a system of governance.
- Integration into the Curriculum: These initiatives are seamlessly integrated into our school’s curriculum, forming an integral part of our Life Skills Program.
- Life Skills Development: The Life Skills Program provides a platform for children to develop 21st-century skills and socio-emotional qualities such as assertiveness, empathy, and gratitude.
- Interactive Learning: Our approach is dynamic and active, conducted through classroom interactions. The program is led by school counsellors and experts who offer both theoretical knowledge and real-world perspectives.
- Effective Learning Strategies: To facilitate self-discovery and personal growth, we employ group work, brainstorming sessions, and role plays. These techniques enhance the students’ understanding of themselves and the world around them.
In essence, our commitment goes beyond academic excellence; it extends to moulding compassionate, socially responsible, and emotionally literate individuals equipped to navigate life’s challenges with grace and empathy.
Safety and Security
Safety and security of our students is our utmost priority. We are committed to creating a safe environment where students can thrive, and parents can have peace of mind regarding their child’s well-being.
To ensure this, we have dedicated security personnel stationed throughout the premises. Our extensive CCTV camera network provides an additional layer of security, monitoring each floor and every area within the school. Security personnel are deployed across the campus to ensure the safety of all students.
We conduct rigorous background checks on all staff and personnel who interact with our students, both directly and indirectly, to uphold the highest safety standards.
Our transportation facilities are designed to meet contemporary needs. Each bus is equipped with a female attendant to offer support and care to the students, along with CCTV cameras and live GPS tracking.
Additionally, all students and staff members regularly receive orientation on appropriate behavior and the code of conduct to maintain a safe and respectful environment.
