A debate on a particular topic gives our students different perspectives on the same topic, teaches the art of persuasion and enhances critical thinking. This year, the Ujaala team and Unnati team participated in the Debate finals for SSS domain based on the scores of the semifinals held earlier.
The participants from Ujaala house were - Aditya Nebhrajani and Sai Srinath Narra
The participants from Unnati house were - Tanmay Goyal and Atharva Mudsaddi.
The participants from both the teams were very confident and conversant with the topic. While Unnati team spoke for the topic " Peer Pressure is beneficial for individuals" and Ujaala team spoke against the topic, their points were well articulated and the chain of thought was impeccable.
The judges for the event were Ms Atreyi Saha Di and Ms Amarpreet Kotkar Di. There was a close competition and Ujaala team emerged as the winning team with 88 points while Unnati had scored 86. The winning team and runners up team participants were awarded with certificates.
The surprise award of 'Best Speaker' was given to Tanmay Goyal.
The competition was a true display of well honed oratory skills and students also took their mentors advices on their weaknesses and areas of improvement.
