Grade 3 had a visitor session this Tuesday, 3rd Dec 2019. It was conducted by Ms. Shubha from the Jeevit Nadi foundation which works on the motto - My River My responsibility.
Ms. Subha started the session by making the children realising the importance of nature and what all it can mean to us and the ecosystem.
Students were shown a presentation on how the civilizations including Pune was established near a river. Difference between a river in its natural habitat and a river in the middle of a city with the banks occupied by civilizations was also shown.
Ms. Subha explained what all steps is her foundation taking to clean rivers around and what can we do to stop polluting our rivers. She shared pictures of the activity of children and adult gathering up on Sundays to help clean rivers and areas surrounding it.
Students were very motivated and asked Ms Shubha to share her exact location so that they can ask their parents to be a part of this initiative and join her on Sundays for this. She gladly obliged and offered to take them for a nature walk when they come.
In all it was a truly enriching and inspiring session.
