Class V Twinning Program 2017-18: The Orchid School and Balewadi Krida Vidyalay collaboration
Nothing brings together children like playing does. We have seen this bonding over play come to life year after year during the Twinning Program when Class V students of TOS visit the Balewadi premises to play with the students of the Krida Vidyalay at Balewadi.
The Krida Vidyalay at Balewadi, is a residential school that caters to students from different socio-economic backgrounds and provides them with intensive training in sports along with free education. These students are extremely talented athletes and many of them will go on to play for our region, state and even country.
The collaboration, that took place in the morning hours from the 14th to the 16th of February, is initiated with the objective of introducing our students to the lives and dreams of other children of the same age whose social realities are different. Over matches of Dodgeball, Football and other fun games, the students of both schools get opportunities to interact with each other on an equal platform.
It was a wonderful opportunity for the children to appreciate each other’s skills, rejoice over similarities and keep aside the differences, all of this while purely having fun.
A big shout out to all the students of Krida Vidyalay and TOS, as well as the teachers of both schools who helped arrange the entire program. A bigger shout out to our sports teachers for coordinating the matches and games that the children truly enjoyed.
The feedback session done at the end of the session gave a satisfying indication of the objective being met when the students had such wonderful things to share about what they liked about the program.
