The Orchid School has a new collaboration with Tyreso Gymnasium, an upper secondary vocational school in Stockholm. Under this program 8 students and 2 faculty members from Tyreso are visiting the school. The delegation arrived on 14.1.18 and a welcome lunch was organized for them. The day unfolded with some icebreaker games wherein the team got to know their counterparts from both TOS and NKOCET, Solapur - Engineering College. The three teams will be working on a sustainable energy project.
Day 2 (15.01.2018) The students of TOS, Tyreso and NKOCET, started off their day with a session in the physics laboratory. Then the students had a language group activity with the principal and students of class XI. After a short break they were given a school tour and a briefing on the schedule of the upcoming days. A heritage walk was planned for the group to get a peek into the rich cultural heritage of Pune City. This walk was organized by INTACH and covered mainly Shaniwad wada, Dagdusheth
Day 3. The students from TOS, Tyreso and NKOCET attended a very informative and detailed lecture by Professor Satish Ogale. After the lecture finished, the students got a break. Continuing their day, the students discussed amoungst themselves about the project. After lunch the students were taken for a short visit to IISER where the students saw Professor Satish Ogale's laboratory and got a tour of the institute.
Day 4 (17.01.2018) : The Sweden Exchange Program, a unique opportunity for families to work with and to know the exchange students, their culture and lifestyle. The students from Tyresjo interacting with the TOS host families . The excitement builds up as the Tyresjo team moves in with the host today.
Day 5 The students of TOS, Tyreso and NKOCET start their day on a trip to a small village called Jogewadi near Bhor. The students reached the village by 10:30AM. They were greeted by the villagers with a cup of tea. The students also saw the new stoves given to the villagers. The students also saw the life in the village, where the villagers used very basic tools to do their day to day activities like grinding wheat and separating the chaff from the rice.The students saw many village houses.
Day 6 (19-01-18) The students started off the day by receiving a brief introduction of Mr. Udaysinh Kshirsagar and his achievements. It was then followed by a short session on hybrid solar and wind powered systems, and the cost efficiency that goes hand in hand with it. After the enlightening session, the students took a short break where they interacted with Uday Sir who then went on to tell them more about his experiences in Germany.
Part-1 - Sweden Exchange Program 2017-18 The first part of the program at TOS Pune ends well with a promising collaborative exchange between three institutions - an upper secondary vocational gymnasium from Tyresjo , Stockholm , The Orchid School, Pune, and the Technical College NKOCET, Solapur . While the collaboration focused on Solar power, alternate energy, sustainability , green solutions , it gave great opportunity for three organisation culture to interact and learn from each other.
(22-01-18) Team reached Solapur. Had an enriching and interesting session with professor Santosh Kumar on solar energy.

(23-01-18) Understanding automation and system design: Prof. N. U.Gawali at the board room, introducing the team to Programming Logic Controller (PLC).
(23-01-18) At the Computer Lab, the students get hands on experience on Ladder Programming (Basic Software Learning) and understand the hardware configuration in automation design in an interesting session with Prof. N. U.Gawali.
(23-01-18) Later in the evening, a wonderful classical music program was arranged. Everyone enjoyed it a lot.
(24-01-18) TOS Pune, NKOCET and Tyresjo team get to the inside story of the automation industry.

Sweden Exchange Program : All ends well with a promising collaborative exchange between three institutions - an upper secondary vocational gymnasium from Tyresjo , Stockholm , The Orchid School, Pune, and Technical College NKOCET, Solapur . The Swedish students took their flight back to Sweden on 29th Jan and carried with them lot of new experiences and stories to share, apart from the learning. Indian counterparts will go to Sweden in April.
