During the journey, the students learnt about different means of transport used by the people. They also observed different animals (related to the previous month’s topic) like dogs, buffaloes, cows, puppies etc. Overall, it was a fruitful learning experience for the children.

Children were shown the ticket counter, time table, waiting rooms, and police station available on the platform. They met with the Station manager who showed them the workings inside the control room. The guard who waves the green flag or the red flag as a signal for the engine driver demonstrated to the children as a train went by. Children also got a chance to see trains.

In connection to our ongoing concept on “Transport”, a field visit was organized for Sr. KG students to Khadki Railway Station. Children were very excited while they set off from school at 9.45 am on 6/10/15. The purpose of the visit was to acquaint the children with the transport facility used by most of the people in our country. It helped children to observe how people travel.

Field trips are wonderful educational experiences for students. These events create lasting memories for the students. They provide hands-on learning opportunities that cannot be duplicated in the classroom.
